How does it work?

Take an inventory of the items you would like to dispose of.

Call us at 641-437-7279 to schedule an appointment.

  1. Keep products in original containers and place upright in a box.
  2. Contain any leaking or damaged containers in a heavy or double plastic bag.
  3. Place box in the trunk of your vehicle, away from passengers and pets.
  4. Drive directly to your disposal appointment, as containment and temperature may severely affect the chemicals
  5. When you arrive at the facility, check in at the office. There will be a short information form to complete while your car is being unloaded.

How much does it cost?

Residents in the RASWC service area may use the RCC free of charge to dispose of hazardous materials from their homes.

Agricultural or commercial users will incur a fee for disposal of hazardous materials or waste on a case-by-case basis. Click here for more information and directions.

How do I know if it’s hazardous?

Hazardous waste or material is a product that is toxic, corrosive, poisonous, flammable, or reactive.

Look for signal words on the label such as danger, caution, warning, poisonous, flammable, and keep away from children. Click here for information on paint disposal.
